Last night at the 2017 Royal Rumble, NXT star Tye Dillinger made a surprise Royal Rumble match entry at number 10, living up to his “Perfect 10” moniker. Dillinger last 5:27 in the match before eventually being eliminated by Braun Strowman.
Even though Dillinger was the only surprise entrant in last night Rumble match, it was still pretty great seeing him get in the ring. Whether this mean that Dillinger is main-roster bound or going back to NXT remains to be seen, but at this point in his character development it seems that a main roster spot would be the option that makes the most sense, with his character suffering multiple losses over the past couple of months and him possibly quitting NXT due to “disappointing the fans”. I also feel like à la Smackdown Lives Dolph Ziggler, Dillinger will turn heel in the process, turning his back on the fans in an attempt to improve his chances of winning. Speaking of Smackdown Live, I also feel like Dillinger is a shoo-in for the Blue Brand, but only time will tell.
