Royal Rumble 2017: Smackdown Lives’ Randy Orton Wins The 2017 Royal Rumble Match!

Last night at the 2017 Royal Rumble, Randy Orton outlasted 29 other men (One of them a deadman, so I don’t know if that counts…) to win the 2017 Royal Rumble match and go on to headline WrestleMania 33 in Orlando Florida! Orton entered at #23 and when it came down to the final four of Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, and Ortons Wyatt Family co-member Bray Wyatt, Orton bided his time and threw out Roman Reigns after Reigns eliminated Jericho and Wyatt, winning him the match! Orton will now go on to face whoever the WWE Champion is after Elimination Chamber (Rumored to be Wyatt) at WrestleMania 33! This is Ortons second Royal Rumble win, his first coming in 2009.

Not going to lie, this isn’t exactly the most exciting scenario that I had in mind for the Rumble match, but just as HHH promised us, it certainly was unexpected. The Smackdown Live world title scene is certainly in a changing state right now, and it will be interesting to see how it shapes up after Februarys Elimination Chamber PPV on the road to WrestleMania.
